This training will cover all areas Psychological First Aid in Disaster Response for Volunteers helping Survivors of a Disaster.  This course will cover some of the following areas:

  • Critical Incident Stress Management
  • Psychological First Aid
  • Behavioral Health Assessments
  • Specialty Behavioral Health Intervention
  • Responder Education Services
    Team Development and Consultation Support
  • Resilience Training

The Organization that will be providing this training is the Emerald Coast Crisis Stress Team (ECCST) who is an elite group of volunteers that respond to the mental health needs of first responders in the aftermath of a natural disaster, acts of terrorism or critical incidents. 

The team members of this group are made-up of first responders and clinical professionals.  They all are certified in psychological first aid and critical incident stress management (CISM). This team is 15-20 members strong.
This team has responded both in and out of the state of Florida. This team began operation during Hurricane Michael and were used extensively during post operations and in a number of other hurricanes since then.
The team has also responded to Active Shooter incidents, NAS Pensacola and Sutherland Springs Texas of note and many other post suicide incidents.
This team was extensively used during COVID for medical staff support in a ten-county area.
